2027 English Social Solutions Contest Information
Topic: AI for Good
Show how AI can help solve a social problem, in Taiwan or elsewhere.
Some suggested areas are:
1. Elder care
2. Mental health
3. Financial inclusion, such as anti-fraud tools or micro savings
4. Education innovation
5. Disaster resilience
6. Use AI to eliminate cheating with AI
First Round: video submission deadline

Semi-Final and Final: in-person presentation

First Round - send your video to taipeirc@gmail.com by Monday, January 11, 2027 at 12 pm (noon)
Submit 5-7 minutes video in English with good audio and video quality. Your video must cover:
- The problem: who it affects, how many people, and your evidence.
- Stakeholders: who is involved and what each group needs
- Your solution: how it works and what role AI plays
- Execution plan: budget, timeline and partners you need
- Impact: how you will measure whether it works
- Your team: each member's name, a short resume and their role
Semi-final and Final Presentation – Saturday, March 13th, 2027

Each individual or team has 10 minutes for their presentation without interruption from the judges.

Presentation under 7 minutes or over 10 minutes lose points.

Smart casual is the preferred attire.

Do not use phones or mobile devices during the contest.
Who Can Enter

Students currently enrolled in a Senior high school, Vocational high school, college or university in Taiwan. Undergraduate and graduate are both eligible.

International Students enrolled at a school in Taiwan are welcome.

Teams may consist of 1 to 3 members. Each student can join one team only.

If you choose to enter as a team, every team member must be present on stage and take part in the presentation. Any absence may result in disqualification unless prior written approval is obtained from RC Taipei.
Divisions

High School Division: senior high school and vocational high school students.

University Division: undergraduate and graduate students.

A team with members from both levels enters the university division.
Facility:

Classrooms are equipped with a computer with PowerPoint software, a pointer and microphones.

WiFi is available but it is recommended that you bring your presentation slides in a USB device.

Teams requiring proprietary software or specialized equipment for their presentation must provide and install it themselves.

Judges use the same six criteria in every round.

Mentoring: Rotary members may mentor promising teams after the Final and connect them with Rotary clubs and partners.
